The repeated delay of a title is a familiar phenomenon in the world of gaming. Sometimes the reason behind this is the manufacturers’ desire for perfection and sometimes it’s just a marketing maneuver intended to increase interest in those no longer patient enough to submerge themselves in the virtual universe of a certain title.
From this perspective, the nearly one-year-long delay of the PlayStation 3 console falls within normalcy. So does the fact that a limited number of units will be available to begin with and that the 500,000 consoles Sony has promised are already sold, before ever reaching stores.
