BitTorrent.com the website previously know as the place to download pirated software and movies has gone legit.

BitTorrent.com still offers free movies, videos and software however, you are no longer allowed to download copyrighted material for free. The site has gone legit and now requires you to rent copyrighted feature films such as “Crank” for a fee of $3.99. The website also offers games, videos and music which now places BitTorrent in direct competition which such names as iTunes.com, Walmart and others.

The question is will BitTorrent.com be able to convert it’s millions of non-paying customers into paying customers? That is something that is yet to be seen.
