MySpace Puts YouTube in Crosshairs With Video Relaunch

MySpaceTV is the newly renamed and relaunched video portion of the social networking site. Along with being accessible to all Internet users — with or without a MySpace account — MySpaceTV is localized in 15 international versions. The relaunch comes a day after the release of figures indicating that YouTube is by far the dominant site in the video-sharing market.

YouTube Latest News about YouTube may be the dominant player in the video-sharing arena today, but MySpace Latest News about MySpace is stepping up its own bid to compete in that realm as it relaunches and renames the video portion of its social networking site.

MySpaceTV, as the company renamed it Thursday from MySpace Video, is available to all Internet users, whether they have MySpace accounts or not, and has been localized in 15 international versions. It is the first spinoff from the company that doesn’t require registration on the main site.
