I don’t normally write posts on political topics however the decisions that our government have been making recently are causing outrage throughout the country. It’s time for a New American Tea Party.
CNBC’S Rick Santelli couldn’t have said it any better when he stated, “What we’re doing now is making the founding fathers of this country roll over in their graves.”
When Barack Obama announced a $275 billion dollar plan to bailout homeowners I nearly lost my lunch. Why the hell should we rescue homeowners that took on more house than they could afford? Do you want to be paying your neighbors mortgage? I didn’t think so. That’s basically what it’s going to come down to if Barack Obama and the Congress pass the $275 billion dollar mortgage bailout. A Tea Party is a great idea just as it was back in 1773 to demonstrate protest to the continuing, serious financial mistakes that this government is making.
We simply cannot buy our way out of a recession. We would have been better off not bailing out AIG, the banks, the U.S. auto makers and all the others. Let’s face it if GM had built better cars they wouldn’t be in the position they are in today. The same goes for the mortgage lenders, banks and insurance companies. Bad loans and bad decisions lead to bad outcomes. Welcome to the world you created. You did it. Not us. We shouldn’t have to pay for it.
Had our government done nothing what do you think would have happened? Would fire fall from the sky? Would the country plunge into darkness? No way! The weak companies would fail and the strong ones would survive. That’s it. Those homeowners that couldn’t afford their homes would have to rent until they could afford one. Let the banks that made the bad loans suffer the losses. Not the American taxpayers.
A Tea Party? Yeah that’s a great idea. Let’s let our politicians know that we are fed up with them making lousy decisions for this country and getting away with it at our expense. Things have been leading up to this point for a long time in the making and a new American Tea Party is just what this country needs to save it right now.
