Survey Says Only 26 Percent run Windows Vista

An online survey conducted at ElectroGeek.com’s blog of 1,454 visitors has revealed that only 26% of the users surveyed run Microsoft Windows Vista as their operating system of choice. Although this is a very small sample of computer users it does provide a glimpse into the preferences of some true computer Geeks.

It is clear that Windows XP is still known for it’s speed and stability and that these users surveyed have been reluctant to switch to Windows Vista. Windows Vista’s stability and quirkiness has been improved due in part to 2 service packs that have fixed a number of security and stability issues. With Windows 7 on the way will computer users be reluctant to make the switch? Time will tell.

The results of the ElectroGeek O.S. Survey as of 08/09/09 are listed below.

Which O.S. do you run?

* Windows XP (41%)
* Windows Vista (26%)
* Linux (16%)
