Armed Conflict between U.S. and Canada over Oil possible

According to reports, an armed conflict between the United States and Canada may result if a U.S. based company continues to pursue exclusive international rights to extract oil from the Arctic Ocean.

According to an article published by Canada.com, a Las Vegas based company is pursuing the exclusive right to extract undersea oil from the Arctic Ocean. The oil resources are estimated to be as much as 400 billion barrels. This is apparently not sitting well Canada as could be expected.

This paragraph cited from the Canada.com article demonstrates the seriousness of the situation:

“The United States should not underestimate Canadian passions on this issue,” Borgerson, a fellow at the influential Council on Foreign Relations, wrote in an article in the latest issue of Foreign Affairs magazine. “Unless Washington leads the way toward a multilateral diplomatic solution, the Arctic could descend into armed conflict.”

Now would be a great time to invent affordable, practical all electric vehicles which would lessen or remove our dependence on foreign oil before it’s too late.
