Sprint will buy your EVO 4G for $150. Should you sell it?

Just received a text message from Sprint which stated they want to buy my EVO 4G phone for $150 until July 21st, 2011. Should I keep it or sell it back? That is the question. What would you do? I have a few ideas…

What will you do with your old EVO 4G from Sprint?

Having recently picked up the new EVO 3D Android phone from Sprint a few weeks ago I must say that I am overall very satisfied with the phone. With it’s dual core processor it is much quicker than it’s predecessor (the EVO 4G) and battery life is significantly improved due to the larger battery capacity and more efficient processor.

So the question arises: What do you do with your old EVO 4G?

  1. Well you could keep it as a backup, after all you never know when your phone may get lost or stolen.
  2. You could sell it on Craigslist or Ebay but that’s a hassle and you won’t get much more than $200 if you’re lucky.
  3. You could sell it back to Sprint for $150 no questions asked, take the money, and buy your friends Jack Daniels shots at your favorite drinking establishment. (Kinda like that idea)
  4. You could take the EVO 4G to your local target range, tell the EVO, “you are so last weeks technology” and then determine how many pieces are left after being shot with a .50 caliber sniper rifle. (That would make a great video!)

As much as I like the sound of #4 that would be so wrong. It’s still a cool phone to use as a backup. I guess I will keep the old EVO 4G, it’s good to have a spare and what a cool spare it is. I think I’ll buy my friends Jack Daniels shots anyway.
