Is the Death of the iPod Near?

The iPod once acounted for as much as 60 percent of Apple’s revenues.

Rumors have it that Apple’s iPod powerhouse money making device which previously accounted for as much as 60 percent of Apple’s revenue now only makes up 6 percent of their revenue.

Does this mean that Apple is planning to kill off the iPod which so many customers have embraced over the years? Maybe. There is also speculation that the iPod will be replaced by a better, more advanced device.

With so many other brands of portable music/video players on the market stealing market share from Apple, it’s really no surprise that iPod sales have slumped.
